Dear EEISD Community, Thank you for your patience with the PFC Ybarra campus power supply issues. Our maintenance team has worked with an engineer to identify the failing component in the power supply to the buildings. Once the issue was identified, the part was ordered and is expected to be received tomorrow. Unfortunately, the replacement part is expected to arrive by midday and we will not be able to conduct classes until the necessary repairs are completed. Therefore, PFC Ybarra will be closed tomorrow October 22, 2021. We will not have classes nor afterschool ACE activities. The district’s instructional calendar has sufficient minutes of instruction built into the calendar and students will not need to make up the closure on another day. We expect to resume classes at PFC Ybarra as usual on Monday, . Our staff is reaching out to make sure all parents and students are aware of the planned closure. As always, the health and safety of our students is our number one priority. Thank you for your continued patience as we make the necessary repairs to the damaged equipment. We look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday. Sincerely, EEISD Administration

This month we are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15). E-E Library Services and The BOOK IT Team! are featuring three books exploring life in the Hispanic community, both fiction and non-fiction For older readers, Esperanza Rising follows the story of a 12-year-old girl, born on a ranch in Mexico, and her family of immigrant farmworkers during the Great Depression. My Name is Gabito shares the life of famed writer Gabriel García Márquez and complements the tale with beautiful illustrations. Become friends with the boogeyman under your bed after reading El Cucy is Scared, Too!. https://www.bookitprogram.com/articles/shelf-help/shelf-help-october-2021
