Edcouch-Elsa ISD is off to a wonderful start for Summer School 2026! Today marked the very first day of summer learning across our district, and the excitement, smiles, and energy could be felt in every classroom visited. Our Interim Superintendent of Schools, Mrs. Sylvia Garza, spent her first week visiting summer school campuses and connecting with students and staff. As she walked through the classrooms and activity areas, it became clear how special this moment was for our students. Children were excited to meet Mrs. Garza, eager to share their learning experiences, and many lined up to take pictures with her. Her warm spirit and genuine love for students immediately drew children to her, creating unforgettable moments throughout the day. Mrs. Garza visited several of the outstanding programs being offered this summer at Edcouch- Elsa ISD. At the Early Childhood Dual Language Program, our youngest learners welcomed her with open arms and bright smiles as they proudly participated in engaging bilingual activities. In the ACE Program classrooms, students challenged Mrs. Garza to games of table tennis and basketball while others enthusiastically demonstrated creative projects using LEGO sets provided by the district. At the secondary level, students participating in Credit Recovery programs proudly showcased the district-purchased instructional software they are using to strengthen their learning and stay on track for success. Middle school students demonstrated collaborative online lessons that encouraged thoughtful classroom discussions and teamwork. Mrs. Garza also had the opportunity to visit with high school students engaged in credit recovery courses and dual credit classes, where college professors were already leading rigorous college- level instruction. Students were focused, motivated, and excited about the opportunities available to them this summer. Summer School at Edcouch-Elsa ISD is more than just learning, it is about building relationships, creating opportunities, and inspiring students to continue growing academically and personally. Seeing Mrs. Sylvia Garza interacting so naturally with students during her very first week as Interim Superintendent was a reminder of the heart and dedication she brings to our district. Edcouch-Elsa ISD is proud to offer an array of summer programs designed to support and inspire our students. We encourage all families to contact their campus and register their child today. It is going to be an incredible summer of learning, growth, and unforgettable experiences!
