Edcouch-Elsa’s Everardo Crispin brought home the Powerlifting State Championship in the 148 lbs. weight class with a total of 1542 and a state record of 625 in Squat. Edcouch-Elsa powerlifting coach Martin Marichalar said, “This kid is great, always going above and beyond, work ethic is excellent, never missed a practice." Athletic Director Christian Navarro also added, “Last year Crispin was doing four sports, preventing him from being a double state champion. This year he decided to concentrate on powerlifting to attain his goal. Crispin will be greatly missed.” Congratulations Crispin for bringing home this year’s State Title to Edcouch-Elsa ISD.
