Edcouch-Elsa ISD Acknowledges Community Decision on 2023 Bond

Edcouch, TX— November 8 — The Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District (EEISD) would like to express its sincere gratitude to the surrounding community for their participation in the 2023 bond referendum held on November 7, 2023.

"We appreciate the engagement of our community members in this important decision-making process," said Dr. Alda T. Benavides, Superintendent of Schools at Edcouch-Elsa ISD. "While the bond did not pass, we value the important feedback that we received and will use this input to guide us moving forward. This is a huge loss for the children at Edcouch-Elsa ISD, however, we remain committed to our students in providing a high-quality education. This commitment is unwavering. We will continue to work diligently to ensure our students have the resources they need to succeed."

The proposed bond was designed to address critical needs within our school district, including safety and security, facility upgrades, infrastructure upgrades, and new infrastructure. EEISD remains committed to transparency and collaborating with our community. We understand the community decision and are committed to addressing these concerns in our future planning efforts. As we move forward, rest assured that the safety of our students and staff continues to be our number one priority.
