Mariachi Juvenil Azteca Shines Bright with 14 Students Earning All-Region Honors
[Edcouch, Texas] – September 27, 2023 – The Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District is proud to announce the outstanding achievement of Mariachi Juvenil Azteca. This remarkable ensemble has once again demonstrated their exceptional talent and dedication as 14 out of 22 mariachi students have been selected to join the prestigious All-Region (High School) group.
The Edcouch-Elsa ISD Mariachi Juvenil Azteca has a long-standing tradition of excellence, and this accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and commitment of its talented members. These young musicians have displayed their skill and passion for mariachi music, earning their rightful place among the best high school mariachi performers in the region.
The journey doesn't stop here for these talented students. Eleven of the Mariachi Juvenil Azteca members now have the exciting opportunity to audition for the coveted All-State Group at the upcoming Area Round, scheduled to take place in October. “This is a remarkable opportunity for these dedicated musicians to showcase their exceptional talents and compete at the highest level of mariachi performance in the state,” Dr. Luis Canales, Director of Fine Arts said.
The Edcouch-Elsa ISD Mariachi Juvenil Azteca program has always been a source of pride for the district and the community, and their consistent success at the All-Region level is a testament to the unwavering support and guidance of their talented instructors.
The district administration, teachers, students, and parents are extremely proud of these young musicians' accomplishments and wish them the best of luck as they continue their journey towards earning a place in the All-State Group.
