Edcouch-Elsa ISD Fine Arts Department Announces Auditions for The Wizard of Oz
Edcouch-Elsa, TX, September 6, 2023 — The Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District (EEISD) Fine Arts Department is excited to announce auditions for its upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz. This marks the district's first-ever musical, and it promises to showcase the incredible talents of our students. The musical is to be directed by Mr. Richard Ozuna.
Dr. Luis Canales, Director of Fine Arts for EEISD, expressed his enthusiasm for this landmark production: "We are thrilled to bring The Wizard of Oz to Edcouch-Elsa ISD. This is an outstanding opportunity for our students to shine and for the community to witness their exceptional talents."
Auditions are open to students of all ages, from elementary, middle school, to high school. With over 20 diverse roles available, there is a place for everyone to audition and be a part of this magical journey to the Emerald City. Whether you have a passion for acting, singing, or dancing, this production offers a unique chance to showcase your skills and creativity. “If you’re not a singer, there are non-singing roles, as well” shared Dr. Luis Canales.

“Audiences can expect dancing, singing, and a few surprises, too!” shared Dr. Luis Canales. The Wizard of Oz promises to be a spectacular show that will captivate audiences of all ages. The magical journey of Dorothy and her friends as they travel the yellow brick road to meet the Wizard will come to life on stage.
