Our deepest condolences to the family of Rosalinda Ramos who passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020. She was a long time and outstanding bus driver for our district. She was awarded bus driver of the year and served many years for our district.   READ MORE...

Community of Edcouch-Elsa ISD: On June 23rd, 2020 the Edcouch Elsa District Administration conducted what has been viewed as a “mini graduation ceremony”. I wish to advise each student and their parents that this was not approved by the Board nor was I advised prior to it happening. Our priority is the well-being of all our students, both physically and mentally. I received calls from disappointed parents that this had occurred. I agree with each one of them. The Board cancelled all in person graduation ceremonies two weeks ago by Board Action because of the concern for the safety of our seniors and greater community. The action taken today by District Administration was unnecessary and put our students at risk, but also hurt all the other graduates who were not invited to participate. This is not acceptable; the Board will be asking questions of the Interim Superintendent at an upcoming Board meeting as to why and how this happened.   READ MORE...

P-EBT helps families buy food during COVID-19

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a one-time food benefit for families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures. Eligible P-EBT families will receive application instructions from schools in late May. The P-EBT application will open the first week of June. P-EBT food benefits are for children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020 and children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year.
